15th Annual Nob Hill Architecture Walk, Oct. 13

October 13 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Nob Hill homeowners are renowned as stewards of their historic houses and landscapes. That’s why our neighborhood continues to portray the architectural character of its period of development and is among the best preserved early 20th Century automobile-oriented suburbs in the nation.

On Sunday, October 13, Nob Hill Neighborhood Association will host its 15th Annual Architecture Walk presented with rediscovernobhill.com.  Join us as we explore Albuquerque’s growth onto the East Mesa in the area we now call Nob Hill. Learn how the railroad, the tuberculosis epidemic, and the automobile made Nob Hill what it is today. Become proficient in reading historic houses and how to research your own house. Learn how to maintain or remodel with respect for Nob Hill’s historic sense of place. Gain an understanding of New Mexico’s 50% tax credit for renovating your house and how you might get a NM Register plaque.

Starting at 1 pm we’ll tour University Heights, platted by Col. DKB Sellers in 1916. This area is being considered by the NM Historic Preservation Division for listing as a historic district in the NM Register of Cultural Places. The walk is ideal for new residents and folks who want to scratch below the surface into what makes our neighborhood so wonderful. We’ll end with a social time at a well-preserved Nob Hill house.

We limit numbers so all can hear. A reservation is needed: Email meyster1@me.com, or call (505) 991-1388.
