The Annual Meeting of the NHNA will be held from 6:00pm-8:30pm on September 19th, at Monte Vista Christian Church. Come celebrate another year of living in Nob Hill!
Here are a number of things you will find at the meeting:
- Membership
- Refreshments
- Election of the Board of Directors
- Bylaws Amendments
- Committees
- Invited Guests
Of course, your neighbors will be there. Catch up with old friends and make some new ones! There will be plenty of opportunities to mingle, ask questions, and share your thoughts and concerns.
Membership Join or renew your membership when you attend! Our process has changed from past years. Membership dues have been waived, and official membership will be established by an affirmation of eligibility. In lieu of dues, voluntary donations will be accepted. These changes are related to the proposed Bylaws Amendments below. Other aspects of membership (eligibility, term, etc.) are unchanged.
Election to the Board of Directors The membership elects Directors to a two-year term. All NHNA members are eligible for election to the Board. Contact the current Board at theboard@nobhill-nm.com if you are interested or have any questions. Candidates can also be nominated from the floor at the Annual Meeting.
Bylaws Amendment This year’s amendments, if passed, will bring us into compliance to the updated Neighborhood Association Recognition Ordinance (NARO) before the November deadline. See this post for a full description and the specific changes to the text of the Bylaws.
Committees We will have updates on the past year’s activities and what we hope to achieve in the next year. Our committees focused on our Newsletter, Public Safety and Quality of Life, Historic Preservation, Urban Planning, and Communications and Engagement, and we can always use help. Maybe you will find a committee to join!
Invited Guests Neighborhood stakeholders will attend and are glad to hear of things going well and not so well. Elected officials, officers from our University Area Command (Albuquerque Police Department), and other community leaders have been invited to attend and interact with our Association.
